Invocation Ps 146:3-8
Lord God our King.
Our trust is not in princes. Nor in mortal man. For with man there is no hope of salvation.
Man’s spirit departs, he returns to the earth in death;
On that very day man’s thoughts perish and hope with him.
But how blessed are we? Our help comes from the God of Jacob. Jacob and we have hope in you.
It is You who has made heaven and earth. The sea and all that is in them. You Lord are faithful forever;
Lord you execute justice for us the oppressed, the enslaved, the captive. You give us food when we are hungry and make us sons and daughters from our captivity.
