What eating grass for a time can do for you!

Things to remember in any election year.

Daniel 4:17 In order that the living may know That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, And bestows it on whom He wishes And sets over it the lowliest of men.

(Twenty verses and a whole lot of grass eating later)

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

Nebuchadnezzar didn’t get to verse 37 without a whole lot of brokenness. The 20 verses between 17 and 37 reflect the mind of man leaving him for a determined time. Judgment for sure but discipline rather than destruction was achieved.

Any lessons for our nation? If we’ve been arrogant. If we’ve been idolatrous. If we’ve forgotten truth. If we’ve been wicked. I think there are lessons for us because this shoe fits.

The irony in this upcoming election is that we may lose in either direction if we maintain our arrogant, idolatrous and wicked direction where truth is the biggest casualty and God is mocked.

The truth that eludes us, is the same truth Nebuchadnezzar arrived at in verse 37.

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

The question is, do we do this voluntarily or via eating grass and loosing our mind for a period of time. It does seem we are on our way to losing our collective mind.

Is that a slight hint of grass I taste?
