Christ Reigns Right Now — The Biblical Reality

The dispensational framework has now been mapped: the postponed kingdom, the parenthesis church age, the two peoples with two programs, the Third Temple required to restart the prophetic clock. The alliance funding it has been identified. The scale of the belief has been measured.

Now let Scripture speak.

What does the New Testament actually say about Christ’s reign and the need for a physical Temple? The answer is clear, consistent, and overwhelming: Jesus is reigning right now with all authority in heaven and on earth. The Davidic throne is already occupied. The true Temple is already standing. And any future attempt to rebuild a physical Temple with animal sacrifices would not fulfill prophecy — it would reject the finished work of the cross.

All Authority Has Already Been Given to Jesus

Jesus himself declared it immediately after the resurrection:

Matthew 28:18
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

This is not a future promise. It is a present reality:

Ephesians 1:20–23
“He raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion… And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body…”

Colossians 2:9–10
“In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.”

1 Peter 3:22
“Who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand — with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.”

Philippians 2:9–11
“God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…”

Christ Has Been Seated and Reigning Since His Ascension

The writer of Hebrews could not be clearer:

Hebrews 1:3 & 10:12
“After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven… But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.”

Colossians 1:13
“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”

Hebrews 8:1
“We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven.”

He Reigns Until He Hands the Kingdom to the Father

This is the centerpiece passage that dismantles the entire postponement theory:

1 Corinthians 15:24–28
“Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death… When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.”

Notice the timeline: Christ is reigning now. He continues reigning until every enemy is defeated. Only then does he hand the perfected kingdom to the Father. There is no gap, no parenthesis, no postponed earthly millennial reign. The reign began at the ascension and continues until the very end.

This is exactly the reign prophesied in Psalm 110:1 (“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”) and preached by Peter on the day of Pentecost:

Acts 2:29–36
“Brothers and sisters, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried… But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne… God has raised this Jesus to life… Exalted to the right hand of God… Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

The True Temple Is Already Here

Because Christ reigns now, the physical Temple is obsolete:

1 Corinthians 3:16
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”

Ephesians 2:21–22
“In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

Jesus is the final, once-for-all sacrifice:

Hebrews 10:10–14
“We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all… For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”

To rebuild a Temple and resume animal sacrifices is not prophetic fulfillment — it is idolatry and a public denial that Jesus’ blood was enough.

One New Man — No Separate Ages or Programs

The new covenant does not maintain two peoples with two plans:

Ephesians 2:14–16
“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier… His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace…”

Galatians 3:28
“There is neither Jew nor Gentile… for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

The idea of a separate ethnic do-over for Israel with Old Testament rules is foreign to the New Testament. The one new humanity in Christ is the fulfillment, not a parenthesis in the middle of a story that still awaits a different ending.

The King is already on the throne. He is not waiting for a building project in Jerusalem. He is reigning now, and he will continue reigning until every enemy — including death itself — is placed under his feet. Then he will hand the perfected kingdom to the Father (1 Corinthians 15:24–28).

The present reign of Christ over his church should compel believers to firmly reject this theology and root it out wherever it appears. It is materially harmful and, in our current moment, carries the potential for political catastrophe. Silence in the face of its impact is not commendable charity — it is complicit negligence.

This is the biblical reality that the dispensational system must deny in order to keep its timeline alive. The next post examines what that denial actually costs.
